Low Battery?

Battery DeadIt was one of those days. I went to start my car and it wouldn’t start because my key fob battery was low. Throughout the course of the day my phone battery died and I was unable to make or receive calls. I had no charger with me and neither did anyone else nearby.

How many times this has happened lately. I go to use the cordless drill; battery dead. The kids go to ride their 12 volt atv or car; same story.

This is the time of the year when I like to replace my smoke alarm batteries, so I decided to do just that. Guess what? No smoke alarm! Now that’s a problem. Not sure what happened there. Not even sure what that has to do with this post, but if you’ve seen my smoke alarm (uh um.. Brendan, Logan, or Harrison), please return it or tell me where it is.

What about you? How many times do you feel like your battery has ran low? What about today? Why not join us this Tuesday evening at 7:30 for a re-charge? Even if you’re feeling fine, it may not hurt to go ahead and make certain you have a full charge for what may lie ahead.

Thanks for reading and we hope to see you this evening! – Pastor Fox

Sermons from Psalms

Psalms

Make plans to join us this Tuesday evening as we continue with our Sermons From Psalms study. We have been exploring the beauty of Psalms chapter 1 and we would love to have you with us as we intend to complete this chapter.

Tuesdays are a highlight in our week. The Bible Study nights at The Apostolics of Abingdon are both enlightening and encouraging. It’s a good way just to lighten your load and help you get a little relief from the challenges of life. It’s a time to step aside from the daily routines and get a “fresh breath of air.”  We relax and enjoy the company of others and most importantly, the presence of God. We pray together, laugh together, rejoice together, and sometimes even cry together. There’s nothing quite like it!

Why not give it a try this Tuesday evening? It could be the very thing you’re looking for to help you through some tough times that life presents us. It may just be a good opportunity to connect with others that have a desire to learn more about God and His Word. Bible Study begins at 7:30, but doors open at 7:00 for those who can come early to pray. We look forward to our time together with you!

Pick Me Up

Lady Lifting Child In Air

Anyone need a little “pick me up?” If so, join us this Tuesday evening for an uplifting time in the Word of God. You will be encouraged and have your faith renewed to face the challenges of life.

Life has a way of knocking you down sometimes. Situations arise that can simply take the wind out of your sails. It’s in times like this we need a place we can turn to. I’m glad to know, as the psalmist recognized, “my help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth” (Ps. 121:2).

We look forward to being with you this evening. Bible Study begins at 7:30, but you are welcome (and encouraged) to come early for pre-service prayer. Doors will open at 7:00 P.M. Stop by tonight and take just a little of your time to be refreshed in your spirit. It will be worth your effort. You will be glad you came and we will too!

Teach Us To Pray

Praying-Hands-over-BibleMaybe you know all there is to know about prayer. Possibly you never struggle with your prayer life. You do as the Bible says; you “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17). You are consistent in your regular prayer life. You get all your prayers answered just as you request. If that be the case, you are probably among the minority, and IF that is the case, you may be excused from Tuesday night’s study. On second thought, maybe you need to come so that you can contribute to the rest of us. On third thought, maybe you need to come and “pray through” until you can be honest with the rest of us :-)

The fact is there are times in all of our lives when we struggle with our praying. Even one of the disciples asked the Lord to “teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1). That alone is a good prayer to pray. Especially as we approach this series we are involved in regarding prayer.

Why not join us this Tuesday evening at 7:30 as we continue this series on prayer? We will be so glad to have you with us and we think you will enjoy a time of study and fellowship with others of various backgrounds who are desiring to draw closer to God.

We are conveniently located at 15540 Lee Highway in between Economy Inn and Skyland Coin and Jewelry. If our parking lot is full, these kind neighbors encourage you to park in their paved lots next door.

We look forward to seeing each of you. We also encourage you to share this post with a friend and invite them to join you.

Bible Study

Bible Study people

We hope you are making plans to join us for Bible Study this evening at 7:30. We are expecting a wonderful time in the study of the Bible and enjoying the fellowship of the saints.

Along with your Bible, please bring pen and paper to take notes as I am working from my “mobile office” this week and unable to print a handout as I would have liked. Also, consider inviting a friend to join you. – Pastor Fox

Recharge

ReChargeSometimes life can just drain you if you allow it to. There’s nothing like a Tuesday night Bible Study to recharge your battery and renew your faith!

Tuesdays are inspiring, encouraging, and enlightening as we are uplifted by the Word of God, renewed by the Spirit of the Lord, and refreshed by the fellowship of the saints.

Won’t you join us this Tuesday evening at 7:30 P.M. for a time of prayer, Bible study, and fellowship? We believe you will be blessed to be a part and we know that we will be blessed by your attendance.

Below are some Scriptures for your consideration:

  • Ephesians 4:23  “Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.”
  • Psalm 23:3 “He restoreth my soul.”
  • 2 Corinthians 4:16 “Though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
  • Jeremiah 31:25 “For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.”

Thank you for reading and we look forward to seeing you!

A New Year; A New You!

new-year-new-youAre you ready for some changes in this New Year? Maybe you’re among the 45% of Americans who usually make New Year’s resolutions. Maybe you’re afraid to make them because in the past you’ve been among the 49% who have infrequent success with them.

If you will come to Bible Study this Tuesday evening, we will give you some principals that will help you make some positive changes in 2017.  Who knows, it may even help you accomplish those weight loss goals.

We will begin at 7:30, but the doors open at 7:00 for those who are able to come early for prayer. The church is located at 15540 Lee Highway in between Skyland Coin and Jewelry and Economy Inn. If the church parking lot is full, either of these businesses welcome you to park in their paved lots. We look forward to seeing you!

Grow

grow-2Please join us this coming Tuesday evening as we continue our series “Grow” which has been our theme for 2016. We will examine some principles for growth found in the Word of God. This study could help launch us into the next phase of spiritual and numerical growth and you don’t want to miss it.

If you know of someone who would like to grow in their Christian walk, please invite them to join you. If you want to be a part of a growing church that is seeking not only to grow in number, but to experience all that God has for them, come check us out.

You are welcome to come and be a part of this Bible study regardless of who you are or where you are from. We will do our best to make you welcome and set you at ease while we look into the Word of God together.

Bible Study begins at 7:30, but the doors will open at 7:00 P.M. for those who want to come early to pray. We look forward to seeing you!

A New Series

grow-3We will begin a new Bible study series this evening and we want to encourage you to be there. This is going to be very beneficial to anyone wanting a closer walk with the Lord regardless of where you are in your experience with God. Tonight’s lesson in particular will be very important and you don’t want to miss it.

Our theme for 2016 has been simply “Grow” and that will be the title of this series. We want not only to challenge you to grow, but give you some tools and a plan for growth. We believe there is direction from the Word of God to help us in this endeavor.

Anything healthy should grow and mature. As Christians individually, and the church collectively, this is no different. All of us want to reach our potential in Christ and the church is here to help us achieve that goal. The Word of God will lead us and guide us to that end.

Please join us in this journey toward a closer walk with the Lord. Bible Study will begin at 7:30, but the doors will open at 7:00 for those who want to come early to pray. We look forward to seeing you!

Re-Think Bible Study

bible_studyIf you associate Bible Study with something that will bore you out of your mind and make you wish you were somewhere else, you need to experience Tuesday evenings with us. We do not believe it will be a bore, make you snore, nor even make you feel ignored. You will find a group of folks that will accept you, make you feel welcome, and set you at ease. The folks you will meet will be people from various walks of life, denominational, and geographical backgrounds. You may even bump into someone you know. If not, it will be a great opportunity to make new friends.

The Bible will be presented in a way that is easily understood and delivered with enthusiasm. We also understand that the mind can only comprehend what the seat can endure so we will let you go at a decent hour (typically around 8:30). There are those occasions where the presence of God is so wonderful, folks want to stick around. You can leave at your convenience, however.

Bible Study begins at 7:30, but we also offer pre-service prayer at 7:00 and we invite you to join us for that as well. The church is located at 15540 Lee Highway in between Skyland Coin and Jewelry and Economy Inn. If our parking lot is full please feel free to park in either of these businesses’ lots at their suggestion. We look forward to seeing you!
