Missy the Cow

I couldn’t resist. For the folks who attend regularly, you’ll understand. The others who may read this will just have to attend regularly to understand or we may post more later concerning this subject.

I recently read where Missy the Cow sold for 1.2 million dollars in 2012. Even for you that know much about cattle, that’s astounding! Just the other day I had a conversation with someone after church about the high price of cattle and the figures were nowhere in this range.

Washington County is one of the largest livestock marketing centers east of the Mississippi River with around $40 million in livestock sales annually (see link). Agriculture and agriculture related industries represent the number one industry in the county. Washington County also ranks third in the Commonwealth for having the most cattle, so we love a good cow story. That’s not the only reason we do. The Apostolics of Abingdon know another reason, but you’ll have to attend or at least keep following this blog to find out why. #cowtales
